What is the normal length of the optimize feature in Norton Internet Security?

Added on April 22nd, 2014

Hello everyone,

I have a small question about the optimize feature (under Performance in Norton Internet Security). First of all, I just noticed that there was no automatic optimization for over 2 months. I have the latest version of Norton Internet Security 21.2.0.38 with the default settings … Such a delay is normal? My computer is a Sony Vaio with Windows 8.1.

So I just run a manual optimization, it lasted less than 30 seconds, to give complete information, I conducted a defragmentation tool with Windows after updating windows 8.1 update 1 on Tuesday (08/04/2014), the defragmentation lasted 2:30.

Thank you to enlighten me on this function and its normal length.

Answer

Everything seems normal.

You should know that in Norton Internet Security, optimization is “basic” in the sense that it requires no tuning. Norton Internet Security does not request the user to do it “alone”.

On timeliness is probably related to a recent optimization done prior to that of Norton Internet Security.
