AV Test, the independent research group that undermines the protection of digital solutions has recently published a comparison of the best anti-malware software, with rather surprising results.

AV Test is a reference in the field of antivirus testing and IT security solutions, they delivered a pretty amazing comparison of various software, a specific point of view since this time the detection and removal functions of malware that have been inspected.

Initially the comparison, a simple question: Do anti-malware software can completely clean and repair Windows system after an infection? The problem with some malware is that they are detected too late, or that their removal leads to the loss of sensitive data leading to the loss of information, loss of stability of the system or, in the worst case, blue screens repeatedly. Difficult in some cases to recover a healthy Windows in the state before the infection, some software prefer to neutralize some malware components without removing them entirely at the risk of damaging the system installation.

The good news is, according to comparative made by AV Test, that all of the most popular solutions on the market, whether paid or free, integrated suites or standalone only versions, are particularly effective against any type of malware. The cleaning process is also particularly effective in most cases, but not without surprises, it is the anti-malware software (compared to antivirus) that win the contest.

The best software to protect against malware and perform a complete cleaning was Malwarebyte Anti-Malware Free, published as a free dedicated software that was able to destroy 100% of malware from an infected system.

Second place went to Bitdefender Internet Security 2014, followed by F-Secure Internet Security 2014. Overall, most of the known solutions exceed 95% of efficiency. In the lot, only Avast! Free Antivirus, Avira Free Antivirus and Microsoft Essentials suite is located below the 93.3% efficiency.

If you suspect your machine suffer the effects of malware, you now know which solution to use.
